weaning...

i can't believe peyton will be 1 in just two months!!! she's been such a good baby...sleeping through the night at 6 weeks and eating anything and everything we give her-she especially likes to eat any food we are eating(and she still has no teeth but manages with her gums). and she's not fussy either. if she does cry it's cause she might be hungry or usually it's when she's sick. and if she wakes up at night she quietly puts herself back to sleep sucking her thumb. (oh, how i absolutely love that she sucks her thumb) and then there's the weaning...she's doing so great with the weaning...at 9 months i went down to only 4 feedings and now at 10 months she's down to 3-looks like we're gonna be right on track to her being fully weaned by the time she turns 1 (and praise God for that-cause i just prayed that she would be ready and wean herself-which she pretty much is doing)

party day

we were out at the beach just before 9 am so jino and rob could get in a morning surf session. it was rob's birthday and we waited as more people (my sis, the luna's, manalili's and alvin) came to the beach to celebrate (too bad i forgot to take pics). had soo much fun and were there till about 3 and had to rush back home to get to another party. it was taylor's "boyfriend bobby's 2nd birthday party!

she can...

do lots of things...
can't believe she's almost 1!!
it just amazes us how much she is growing!
she eats the food we eat...
she crawls and stands...
she pushes things all across the floor...
she laughs out loud...
she screams-but not a real scream (i think that's how she tries to talk to us)...sounds more like a roaring lion...and if scream...she'll copy you...
she says papa and mama and te (for ate).
she tries to give a flying kiss...
she's curious about everything...
she tries to go everywhere and get into everything...
she can even climb the stairs now all by herself...
so we had to finally get a baby gate..

and then there's lil miss taylor...
she's growing up super fast!
she's such a lil adult. haha.
it amazes us how much she knows...
she's getting much better at writing her letters...
she can write her name...
she can also copy a word if your write it

here's the b-day she made for grandma....
it's on 2 pages...

this says happy (and her Y is upside down)....
and she drew and wrote
grandma, grandpa and taylor
(she mixes lower and upper case at times....and she ran out of room to write her own name the right way-haha)
this says birthday
she drew mama, papa and peyton
(although her m's here look like w's and her n for peyton looks like a w too)
and she loves to draw the sun in pictures....and usually draws flowers and grass to go with it.
(happy birthday grandma)

mommy and me

i've been doing a mommy and me class since taylor was 1.
and now this year i'm doing mommy and me with taylor AND peyton!
we picked a different teacher and different age group of 0-5 yrs....
so this meant a new school, new room and some new mommies and kids
and this time around is even more exciting cause auntie and the bear are taking the class too!

taylor and peyton had fun!!!
taylor took off and played and i even put peyton down on the carpet with the toys and she made herself right at home too!

turns out i knew more than half of the mommies and kids...some were from the other class, some from tiny tots, some from dance and some from when i was in moms club.

and turns out i really like this teacher-ms lori is her name- and how she ran her classroom...she's completely different from ms. dorothy. it's going to be fun!

so the schedule goes like this:
arts and crafts/play time
circle time (sing songs, read stories, short lesson, share time, etc)
snack time
outside play for kids/topic discussion time for moms
music time (playing with pom poms and all kinds of musical instruments to music)
goodbyes

ms. lori is in blue.
these pics were taken (with my cell phone-haha) at the end during music time

orange street fair

as a family of 4 we headed out to the orange street fair
we've always wanted to go and so we finally did!
we didn't know what to expect.
it was like a huge farmer's market (without the fruits and veggies)/craft and food fair..
it was a madhouse!!!
yet it was an awesome, crazy experience.
they block off the streets in a 4 block radius and each street is themed a different culture...and there you can experience food/drink/etc from that culture...
they have a kiddie section too where the kids can play games...
but this definitely isn't a place for kids...
it's overcrowded, strollers are a must BUT it's crazy trying to push thru the crowds with one...
it's more of a place to go out with friends...to eat and drink and shop!

taylor got her face paint
meow!
we walked and walked into each area (just some random people)...each street had huge signs like this:
the girls were tired and cranky...
the cat fell asleep
and we stopped so peyton could eat some of her dinner
and so we could eat some funnel cake...all gone!
more views...
then back home we went!

Patchwork

taylor started her 1st day of preschool at Patchwork.
it's a small preschool...
at a home nearby...
inside a transformed garage...
it's cute and intimate...
i love that it's academic...
you only find out about this school through word of mouth...
it comes highly recommended...
lots of teachers in the community send their kids here...
the 4yr old teacher/director/owner is a retired teacher...
taylor's teacher is much younger...

she was sooo excited!
they had a bear themed 1st day of school
i made her a new 1st day of school skirt
they had to do a scavenger hunt right when they got in which would take them on a tour of the school
exploring...the kids next to her is the son of a friend i went to college with
miss channel-the assistant took each of their pics
still on the scavenger hunt
then after....it was so hot in the small classroom so they moved everyone inside the house where they all introduced themselves
ms. brittany (in yellow) is taylor's teacher
it was going to be an easy 1st day....after the scavenger hunt and intro's the kids were going to go out for water play while the parents sat in a meeting
they played in the pools and sprinklers and with the sand table and all the toys
then the parents were sent home while they continued to play...and they also did some classwork! taylor had soo much fun!!! i thank God for this school and that taylor loves it!
