roll over

a little late...but better late than never...

yay for peyton who can now at 5 months roll completely over!
i turned to fix taylor's hair and looked back at peyton who was laying on her back to now find her rolled over to her belly!!! yay!!! i'll try to capture it on video next time-this pic was from my cell!

5 YEARS!!!

HAPPY 5 YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TO MY HUBBY AND I!!!

I still can't believe how fast 5 years came...
5 years and 2 beautiful girls later...
we had a lovely anniversary dinner date out in pasadena...

traditional 5 year wedding present is wood...
so here's my wood frame turned into a card i made

today taylor starts preschool!

i still can't believe it!
i have a 3 year old going to preschool!!!
wow, this day came way too fast!
i wanted to put her in a tiny tots preschool program for now until september...cause in september is when she starts the preschool that i am enrolling her in. she's sooo excited to start school! it'll be good for her to interact even more with kids and to learn and have fun! she's soo ready and so am i! she needs the break and so do i (hehe)!!! wow, 3 hours with only 1 kid every tuesday and thursday-what am i to do?! hehe. praise God she was ready for this! there were no tears (on both parts) or fussing.

5 MONTHS

today peyton is 5 months old!!!
she weighs 12.2 pounds,

she smiles a lot,
she laughs,
she can roll from side to side,
she likes to follow you with her eyes,
she can lift her head and turn it side to side,
she can grab toys,
she likes to play in her playgym,
her favorite toys to grab and eat are the links,
she eats rice cereal,
i'm just starting to feed her veggie stage 1 baby foods,
she can drink out of a bottle if she really wants to,
she likes to sit in the double stroller or jogger without the carrier,
she likes to be lifted up like an airplane,
she enjoys her baths,
she loves to sleep in her crib and sleep 10-12 hrs a night,
her hair is very, very slowly growing,
she likes to flail her arms and kick her legs/feet when she's happy,
she's growing, growing, growing!!!

san diego fun

today we took a spontaneous trip out to san diego, even though taylor had the flu and a fever (shame on us). first we headed out to la jolla to enjoy the warm weather by the beach.

then we met up with krissa, joe and alvin who were already out in san diego to have lunch out in la jolla village to eat at burger lounge. papa eats there everytime he's out that way for work. it was super yummy!!!

then after we ventured out for some cupcakes at cupcakes squared in san diego. their cupcakes were delicious and square shaped hence the name. we had of their non-red velvet and strawberry cupcakes!

SHE LAUGHS!!!

peyton will be 5 months old next week and we've been wondering when she was gonna start laughing. she would only do little chuckles here and there. and today after i came back from my run, i was on the floor stretching next to peyton who was in her swing. i popped up and made a funny sound and peyton started laughing hysterically. i kept doing it. i'd go down and pop up with a sound. she'd laugh and laugh. i was sooo excited to finally hear her really laughing. i wanted to capture it on video so i had taylor get the camera. then taylor did the popping up thing with a silly sound and peyton still kept laughing! i was soo happy i was able to get it on video.

fun filled thursday!

today taylor, peyton and i went to the l.a.zoo with our good friends shawna and sophia...just the girls! and it was fun yet soooo tiring! after the zoo we headed over to lunch at the old spaghetti factory then headed home.

and today being thursday...it also meant date night!!! so we headed over to the back abbey .

dance

yesterday before dance we all went out to lunch for ava's 3rd birthday...but i didn't get to capture any pics cause it seemed soo hectic and rushed! then after...all of us late again, rushed over to dance class. the girls have been hard at work practicing their tap routine for the recital (thanks btw, to mr. mom for the pics! there's more on my facebook).

Taylor: "i'm scared"
Me: "but you don't have to be scared, Jesus will protect you, He's in your heart!"
Taylor: "but He won't come out!" (as she tugs on her heart)
Me: "why do you want Him to come out?"
Taylor: "because I do!"

4 month check up

peyton had her 4 month check up today (but she's already 18 weeks old)
she weighs 11 pounds 12 ounces
she is 24 inches long
she's getting big!
her pedi said she needed to eat more cause she really didn't gain weight since her last appointment...so she'll be getting more tablespoons of rice cereal and her pedi said to try giving her bananas or other baby food and to let her eat as much of it as she wants! :)

giving, saving, spending

since taylor's 3 we decided it was time to give her some official responsibilities/chores although she already does chores around the house. we want to teach her about having responsiblities and we also want to teach her about money...about giving, saving and spending. each chore she completes is worth a quarter. at then end of the week is when she gets her allowance and divides it up into the money jars. giving-is for tithing at church or giving it to someone who needs money; saving-is obviously to save and not touch and the spending-is for her to buy the things she wants instead of always asking us to buy her things...now she has to save up to buy things. i think it'll be good for her...and we got her this great responsibility chart by parents choice! and each week we see if we can add a chore or take out some that aren't effective. so far she enjoys her chart and the chores and the money!
