baby #2

so today i had my visit with the perinatologist specialist. since i have high bp (also know as hypertension) i was referred to a specialist so they can further monitor my pregnancy. i now have double the appointments. i have to go to my regular prenatal appointments as well as whatever is scheduled with the specialist. i'm sad cause i thought my bp was normal. actually it was as soon as i got on the bp meds. but now it's high again. today when they checked it was 142/100. ugh! and...my placenta is lying low-also known as placenta previa. and i think they are watching out for preeclampsia. this pregnancy is much more difficult. but all that matters is that right now the dr. said that they baby is good. whew! regular dr. appt next week. then in 4 weeks i see the specialist again. please keep baby and i in prayer!

still been super lazy. still very tired. still nauseous. still queasy. still not up for sewing. still not in the mood to run much. oy!

I'M AN AUNTIE!!!

Thank you everyone for your prayers for Katie and Tony yesterday!!! I'm officially an auntie!!! Whoo-hoo! Katie and Tony are now parents!!!

As of yesterday at 1215 p.m. I FINALLY became an auntie! Baby Luke Dean Mason was born!!! 7 pounds, 4 ounces, 19 inches long! It was soooo fast. Katie had stayed home yesterday from work cause of spotting. I was on my way there with Taylor so we could go hand out. Then she calls and tell me her water broke. This was just before 10 a.m. She called the hospital and they told her she could drive herself but I tried to convince her to wait for me since I was already on my way. But as I pulled up to her complex she was already in her car. She wanted to make sure she had her car and bags and stuff. I insisted on driving but that didn't work. So I was left to follow behind her. We got to the hospital shortly after 10. We waited in the room and she had her first internal check by the doctor and next thing you know she was wisked away to ER for an emergency c-section (just like me). The cord was wrapped or something like it was right at the opening so they had to take out baby Luke asap! It happened soooo fast! They ended up knocking her out since her body wasn't responding fast enough to the spinal and in the midst of the c-section they found 4 fibroids that the doctor took out too. She was in recovery for a while as we all admired baby Luke through the nursery window. When she finally came out of recovery...she was sooo out of it and very tired. She could barely enjoy and hold baby Luke. All the family was there.

Jino, Taylor and I finally left at 420 p.m. We came back at 820 p.m. since Jino left his car there. So, we decided to see them once more. Praise God, Katie looked much better and was able to enjoy baby Luke and she was able to breastfeed. Baby Luke is sooooo cute.

pastor updates

i've mentioned before about the health of our pastor and his wife. quick overview. our pastor recently found out he needed a kidney transplant. turns out his wife was a perfect match. but through the process of testing for the kidney they found that pastor jeff's wife karen has stage 3 lung cancer-and she's not a smoker. but we know God is with their family. a good friend and member of jeff's congregation, calvary chapel pomona valley matt was going to donate his kidney. they made it through the surgeries and are recovering. they made it on the channel 2 and channel 9 news lastnight. please keep our pastor, his wife and family and our church in prayer! thanks! check out the video clip: http://www.cbs2.com/video/?id=66663@kcbs.dayport.com

mommy footprint

it's such a great feeling getting happy customers. i recently came across mommy footprint...well, she found me on etsy. she's a mom trying to go green and trying to better support handmade artists. she purchased an owl skirt for her twin daughters and i threw in an extra one....afterall, being that i'm a twin...you can't just buy 1 twin something and not the other! :o) i truly enjoyed doing business with her. it was great sharing stories with her as well. see her write up on my shop and other etsy artists on her blog. maybe i can get her to send me a pic of her twin girls in the skirts and i'll post it!

today was a crafting day. taylor and i made cards for mother's day. she got a little crazy with the butcher paper, glue and stickers. and i had fun creating cards with decorative paper, flower, ribbon and all sorts of other embellishments!

9 weeks

time flies and i'm 9 weeks today. i'm sooo nauseous and queasy all day. i found some interesting facts from my babycenter.com newsletter in regards to my nausea:

Are some pregnant women more likely than others to feel nauseated?
You're more likely to have nausea or vomiting during your pregnancy if any of the following apply:

• You're pregnant with twins or higher multiples. This may be from the higher levels of hCG, estrogen, or other hormones in your system. You're also more likely to have a more severe case than average. On the other hand, it's not a definite thing — some women carrying twins have little or no nausea.

• You had nausea and vomiting in a previous pregnancy.

• You have a history of nausea or vomiting as a side effect of taking birth control pills. This is probably related to your body's response to estrogen.

• You have a history of motion sickness.

• You have a genetic predisposition to nausea during pregnancy. If your mother or sisters had severe morning sickness, there's a higher chance you will, too.

• You have a history of migraine headaches.

• You're carrying a girl. One study found that women with severe nausea and vomiting were 50 percent more likely to be carrying a girl.

....so i'm really hoping the reason for my nausea isn't #1 (although i wouldn't mind if it was a boy and a girl) and it can't be #2 cause with taylor i didn't have any nausea. hmmm....haha. it really doesn't matter. just so long as the baby is healthy. oh goodness...i hope the nausea goes away after the 1st trimester. and i am sooo showing...u can really tell when i'm wearing a t-shirt cause the belly fills out my fitted t-shirts. haha.

yesterday taylor was standing on a stool in our room in front of a light switch. she was flicking the light switch on and off. but instead of saying "on, off" she was saying "on, back", "on back." jino and i started cracking up!
