got rice?

...rice cereal that is!

since peyton is now officially 4 months old i decided to try and feed her some rice cereal...
and she actually liked it (despite what the pictures may say)!
wow, she's such a big girl!
10-12 hours of sleep a night, about 4-5 milk feedings in a 24-hr period and now she's eating rice cereal like a big girl!
peyton is such a blessing! :)

4 MONTHS!

today peyton is 4 months old!!!

time is flying fast!

she loves to suck her thumb...
she loves to stare and follow where you go with her eyes...
she definitely recognizes faces and voices...
she sleeps 10+hours through the night...
she kicks and moves her legs a lot...
she coos and makes all kinds of sounds...
she listens when you talk to her and sometimes responds...
she lifts her head and looks side to side when on her tummy...
she can sit in her bumbo...
she smiles a LOT...
she really, truly laughs every so often...
she does not like the bottle but will bite on it/sorta drink out of it
she does not like tummy time for very long

ah! i love my little peyton! she is growing very fast!

but she hasn't really, i mean really laughed very much...
probably only about 3 times...
but tonight as i was changing her diaper and clothes to go to bed...
i decided to tickle her...
and guess what?
she laughed!
and she laughed a LOT!!!
i heard her and so did papa and so did taylor.
firsts are soooooooooooo cute and memorable.
her first laugh was around 3 1/2 months and now she's just about 4 months and she laughed a lot!

i love my hubby and i am very thankful for him...
he works soo hard for us!!!!
it's soo funny...just when i began to think things i did were unnoticed or taken for granted...
he comes home today with this:
a cute little handwritten love note and a giftcard to one of my favorite stores and a box of cupcakes!!! he never ceases to stop surprising! i love him!!! :)

today taylor turned 3!!!

it's amazing how time flies and we now have a 3 year old!
she'll be starting tiny tots next month (just to keep her busy till the fall school year) and then real preschool in september!

the dress

i saw this dress on krissa's blog (which btw, isn't on there anymore)

and i loved it too and wanted to try and make it but decided to try and make it in a smaller scale first-so i made it for taylor...and it's perfect since her b-day is tomorrow-she'd need a new dress!

tonight the family celebrated krissa's b-day with a fabulous, intimate, black and white dinner. The menu for the night:

baked spaghetti
toscano soup
steak
salad
bread sticks
and best of all: RED VELVET CAKE from CPK

flower power

i love peyton's new headbands and flower clips...they make her look more girlie since she doesn't have much hair.

orange pickin!

today with mommy n me school we went to what heritage park calls orange squeeze.

first we get on the tractor ride
then we learn about how they used to pick oranges way back when
and go on more of the tour
and pump water how they used to pump water way back when
now it's time to learn and we pick our orange
our work station
and we wash our orange in soapy water
then rinse it in clean water
and it gets cut in half
and we squeeze
squeeze more juice outall done squeezing
now drink! yum!
now we take our large half of the orange
and use it as out pot to put the flower and soil in so we can take home and plant it in the ground to grow our own orange tree
tada!
