looong weekends!

i LOVE looooong weekends...

cause it means papa gets to be home and extra day with the fam!

started the weekend by going to the beach on Saturday with the fam, kt and bear and our dear friends the visscher's. we watched papa and chris surf while the kids played and the gals talked and we all laughed at chutman the bulldog! then we had to get home so the girls could head off to nishell's bday party with auntie krissa, lola and b. and that meant mama and papa got some time alone! =)

sunday was church and we pretty much just rested that day and got taylor ready for her sleepover @lola &lola's house. taylor was sooo excited!

then came monday...memorial day-a time to remember all those soliders who fight/fought for our country....and with that came great family bbq bonding!!!

taylor went to go visit lolololo (and forest lawn) for the 1st time with lolalola, aunite krissa and uncle jp and she had lots of questions

then we ate yummy bacon/cheddar burgers that papa bbq'd for lunch then stayed and hung out more till dinner and had korean bulgogi made by jp and shrimp made by lola
and taylor even got a talent show going and she was "kelly megan" see videos here on krissa's blog

maternity jeans

i just had to post cause i'm super excited that i turned my own old pair of jeans into maternity jeans. i have many pairs (from my sis maternity stash) but 2 of my own that i always wear but they don't exactly fit right yet. although i've been wearing them cause they are comfy on my growing belly but they don't fit in the legs area at all and halfway through the day my jeans would end up super loose in the legs. i'd been pondering the thought of buying some in my current size so that i could wear them now. i even found a shop online that you can send your own jeans over and they'll turn them into maternity jeans for you for under $30. but then i was convinced to try it on my own (thanks owen-haha) and using several tutorials as my reference i did it!!!

and why i used a white panel? i didn't think it made a difference considering you don't ever see the panel.
so that was my first attempt. i'm thinking of turning one more pair into maternity jeans but we'll see. if i do i definitely have some improvements to make!

sixteen weeks

i'm at 16 weeks today.

23 more weeks LEFT!
3 pounds gained since my last doctor appointment which was a month ago.
10 pounds gained total since i found out i was preggy.

i'm super, duper tired this time around.
i've somehow developed allergies/congestion.
my lower back/buttocks to the left is super achy.

praise God so far the bp is under control and i am NOT labeled high risk. but my ob is sending me to see a perinatalogist just to double check that she didn't miss anything. also praying that once i take that glucose test in a couple months that i'm good to go and don't have gestational diabetes again.

a chick-fil-a birthday

today we celebrated taylor's really good friend (and our next door neighbor) wesley's 5th birthday at chick-fil-a. it was quite fun! chick-fil-a reserves a little section for you decorated with balloons and the package also includes kids meals for each kids and goodie bags and us parents got to eat too!!

peyton's 18 months already!!!

she's gettin soo big, yet she's so tiny.
the last i checked she still wasn't quite 20 pounds.
and she's almost 3ft tall-hehe.
she also has 4 teeth on the bottom and 6 on the top (2 of which are molars and 2 other ones on top just about to come out!
this lil girl has developed some personality!
she's our little tom boy, our little adventurous one! she's our own little dora the explorer and curious george. she climbs in and out of everything and hangs onto anything she can get her little hands on. she eats anything and everything and is never done. she's not afraid to try things out (even with food) and take risks. she climbs up high stairs and slides down the tallest slides and swings on swings. she even climbs those curved ladders at the playground (whereas taylor just started doing all that). she can communicate 2 and 3 word sentences and tell u what she wants. she can also understand simple directions like "peyton throw that in the trash" or "go get your lion" and can answer back if you ask "peyton where's papa going?" and she replies with "work." there's so much that i wish i could record it all. she can sing some of her abc's too. it's soo fun to watch the 2nd one grow cause it feels like ages ago when taylor did that and plus we were too busy being new parents the first time around.

sawdust factory

we went to the sawdust factory with mommy & me school. and it was super fun. all these years i've attended m&m...i've never gone with them on the fieldtrip to sawdust. and i've been missin out! this place is awesome. if you want a handy dandy woodcraft project then this is the place to go! the kids have fun and it makes for great presents! you should go...call me up and i'll go too!

disney days

it's been fun having a disneyland pass. i told myself we'd go at least once a month. so far since we've had the passes in november we've only missed january and april. not bad. and this month i've gone once so far and am going again this week and probably every week and into june until we are blocked out. and plus later on i'll be too preggy and probably won't wanna drive there and do all that walking. haha!

while at disney...one must meet up with other mommy friends and their kids with disney passes....so it was the martinez's, the barrett's, aimee tibayan and her kids, then we ran into joel's sister jen and her boys and of course there was mike. i think he's everyone's life saver. he's the extra hand for us all. hehe.

my sis and i took the kids to go visit our friend thuy and her son darius and together we all went to frogg's bounce house. it's like a pump it up only smaller. the kids had sooo much fun bouncing all over the place! we tired them out real good so they could have good naps! =)
